Hi, I’m Richard, a qualified counsellor.
I offer a very safe space for clients to talk about what’s going on for them, in confidence.
The power of this process means that talking about your problems helps you to gain perspective and to find a place to express your frustration or suffering in confidence.
I welcome any clients regardless of gender or sexuality.
I have a great deal of experience of working with LGBTQ+ clients.
I work with many different issues including anxiety, bereavement, grief, confidence, depression, LGBTQ+, relationship issues, sexuality and stress.
Qualifications
I qualified from The University of Salford with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2023.
I’ve been working with clients for 4 years.
As well as private practice, I’ve worked with Mind and LGBT Foundation.
Please get in touch to find out how I might be able to help.
My therapy is a way for you to gain a better understanding of your life within a safe, non-judgmental space. It can help you to move forwards with a much clearer mind and can help you to gain perspective over your life and situation. It can help you to feel more in control and empowered to make changes.
Clients who’ve worked with me have reported feeling better and having more clarity and peace-of-mind.
WHAT WILL IT COST?
I charge £45 per session and a session lasts for 50 minutes.
Please ask about a concessionary rate.
WHERE WILL IT TAKE PLACE?
All sessions are online and I send out a link for you to use in advance. You would need access to the internet but other than that it’s a very simple process – just a computer and a private space to talk.
WHO COMES TO COUNSELLING?
There should be no taboo about counselling – it is a healthy and recognised process for helping to come to terms with emotions when life can be complicated and difficult.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER A SESSION?
There is no obligation for you to take up a set number of sessions. We would use the first session to work out what is going on for you and how many sessions you might need. Some clients have a few sessions and some have many more. Six is a common number to have – but there is no fixed number of sessions, as it depends on the nature of your situation and what you want from therapy.
WILL COUNSELLING CURE MY PROBLEM/S?
Counselling is an effective way to help you to manage your feelings, to feel better and to find a way forward with new perspectives on your problems and situations. Talking therapy has proven benefits including a feeling of empowerment and more control for the client who experiences it. Here’s a useful article from Psychology Today about its positives.
